I got a new couch! YAY! But the pillows I had on my old couch
are WAY too big for this couch. So I made some cute little ones
to replace them!
What you'll need:
- Fabric
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
Cut 1 piece of fabric 22 inches X 16 1/2 inches.
Then cut a second piece 25 1/2 inches X 16 1/2 inches.
Starting with you larger piece of fabric, measure in from the left
side 10 inches. Make a straight cut through your fabric so that

you now have a 10 inch piece and a 16 inch piece.
You will be hemming the edges you just cut. Fold the edge of
your smaller piece over half an inch and sew it down. Set it

aside.
On your lager piece of fabric, fold the edge over 1 inch and
sew along the very edge of the fabric and again along the edge
Now overlap your hemmed edges, right sides up, so that the double
stitched edge is on top. Overlap 2 inches. Secure them
Now you should have a single piece again that measures
the same as your other original piece.
You can sew these two pieces together now. Lay one on top
of the other, right sides together. You can pin them if you like. Sew
around the entire pillow with a 1/4 inch seam making sure to

back stitch at beginning and end.
Cut the corners off. This makes your corners look nice
once you've turned it out. DON'T cut your stitch!
Then, using a needle and thread, sew the folds together
with a simple stitch! Add buttons!
