{ crackle medium knock-off } supplies

Do you love the crackled paint finish for vintage or antique
looking projects!? Me too! But crackle paint is pretty expensive!
So here is a very inexpensive alternative using glue!

What you'll need:

  1. White school glue (Elmer's)
  2. Two paints in contrasting colors
  3. Paintbrush
Paint your project in a dark color and allow it to dry.

Now use your white school glue. Paint a thin
layer onto the project over the first layer of dry paint.

When your glue is ALMOST dry, apply your contrasting paint
trying not to use too many brush strokes. If you wait too long
to add your second coat of paint, it won't crackle.
You want your glue to be tacky still but not really wet.
Now just wait for it to dry! You should be able to see
cracks very soon!

This technique can be used on wood, cardboard, and even
fabric!
