{ front fold throw pillow }

I got a new couch! YAY! But the pillows I had on my old couch
are WAY too big for this couch. So I made some cute little ones
to replace them!

What you'll need:
  1. Fabric
  2. Scissors
  3. Sewing machine
Cut 1 piece of fabric 22 inches X 16 1/2 inches.
Then cut a second piece 25 1/2 inches X 16 1/2 inches.

Starting with you larger piece of fabric, measure in from the left
side 10 inches. Make a straight cut through your fabric so that
you now have a 10 inch piece and a 16 inch piece.

You will be hemming the edges you just cut. Fold the edge of
your smaller piece over half an inch and sew it down. Set it
aside.

On your lager piece of fabric, fold the edge over 1 inch and
sew along the very edge of the fabric and again along the edge
of the fold. This is mostly for looks!

Now overlap your hemmed edges, right sides up, so that the double
stitched edge is on top. Overlap 2 inches. Secure them
together with a 1/8 inch seam on the sewing machine..

Now you should have a single piece again that measures
the same as your other original piece.

You can sew these two pieces together now. Lay one on top
of the other, right sides together. You can pin them if you like. Sew
around the entire pillow with a 1/4 inch seam making sure to
back stitch at beginning and end.

Cut the corners off. This makes your corners look nice
once you've turned it out. DON'T cut your stitch!

Turn it out through the fold on your altered side!

Now stuff it

Then, using a needle and thread, sew the folds together
with a simple stitch! Add buttons!

{ jewelry frame }

I'm trying to organize my life a little! I'm always looking for ways
to organize stuff! I found a way to organize my jewelry! And
it's a really cute way! :)

What you'll need:
  1. A large picture frame (glass removed)
  2. Spray paint
  3. About 10 cup hooks
  4. A strip of screen cut to fit
  5. Stapler

Start by spray painting your frame whatever color you want. Allow it
to dry completely.

Now you are going to measure across the top of the frame
for placement of your hooks. This is just so you space
them evenly.

Once you've marked your frame, you can screw the hooks into it.
You can do this by hand. Just be careful to hold them perpendicular
to the frame as you're screwing them in so they aren't crooked.

After you've put all your hooks on, flip your frame over and
add your screen to the bottom of the frame. Start by stapling
down one side of the screen. Then pull it tight and staple
down the other side. Last, staple down the bottom.
Make sure it's tight so it can handle the weight of whatever
earrings you might put in it.

Last step is to attach a hanger if your frame doesn't already have one!

So cute, so chic! And best of all, my jewelry doesn't look like
this anymore! Ahhh... organization!

{ flower wreath }

I had a FUN fourth of July! I crafted all day with my sisters! Here is something
we came across on the web and had to recreate it!

What you'll need:
  1. Wreath form
  2. Fabric
  3. Fast grab tacky glue
  4. Felt
  5. Hot glue and scissors
  6. Heavy card stock
Start by making as many flowers in as many different sizes as you
want! You can use this link to learn to make the flowers you see on
my wreath. I made 14 flowers total.

Now to make the leaves.

Start with a piece of fabric about 6x3 inches.

Fold it in half long way, right side out, so you have a 3x3 inch square.

Now fold the left corner down to the center so the folded edge is your top
point!

Use tacky glue to secure it.

Now do the same to the right side and tack it down.

Go back the left side and fold the new corner over a little past the center
and tack it down. Do the same to the right side.

Now do it one more time. You should have a leaf looking thing! :)
I made 5 leaves for my wreath.

The next step is to trace half of your wreath onto the your heavy card stock.

Now set your flowers and leaves out how you want them using the tracing
as a guide to where they'll sit on your wreath.

Once you have them where you want them, glue them down to the paper
using your tacky glue. Allow them to dry about 10 min.

Cut the paper around the outside edge of the flowers so you have
one big piece to attach to your form.

Cut strips of fabric to cover your wreath. When you run out of one
strip just hot glue the end to the back side of the form and
start a new strip by hot gluing it to the same spot you ended
your last one. Wrap until it's covered.

Now use hot glue and attach the flower to your wreath!

I used a strip of fabric to hang it!

And here is the one my sis made! Love the polka dot ribbon!
